Two-color terawatt laser system for high-intensity laser-plasma experiments
نویسندگان
چکیده
We report a two-color terawatt laser system for use in controlling laser-plasma instabilities. The system includes a commercial 45 TW Ti:Sapphire laser system at 800 nm, temporally synchronized with a 1 TW CPA Raman-Ti:Sapphire hybrid laser centered at 873nm that we designed and built to complement the 800 nm system. The two-color system will be used to seed, enhance, suppress, or otherwise control a variety of instabilities which arise in laser-plasma interactions.

Study of laser ablation using nano-second laser pulses
In this paper, the laser ablation process based on the irradiation of nanosecond pulsed lasers on a copper target surface in the presence of Helium gas is studied. The dynamical behaviors of the generated plasma in the helium gas and evaporated copper at the atmospheric pressure are examined using a laser pulse, laser wavelength of and intensity of 7×1010W/cm2. A one-dimensional thermal model ...
متن کاملChirped-pulse Raman amplification for two-color, high-intensity laser experiments
We report generation of millijoule-level Stokes (873, 961 nm) and anti-Stokes (738, 685, 639 nm) sidebands of 800 nm terawatt pulses by inserting a multistage Ba NO3 2 Raman shifter-amplifier into a conventional Ti:sapphire chirped-pulse amplification system. The Raman subsystem requires no additional pump lasers and does not compromise the energy, duration, or beam quality of the main 800 nm p...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of an Intense Isolated Attosecond Pulse by a Chirped Two-Color Laser Field
We investigate theoretically the high-order harmonic spectrum extension and numerical generation of an intense isolated attosecond pulse from He+ ion irradiated by a two-color laser field. Our simulation results show that the chirp of the fundamental field can control HHG cutoff position. Also, these results show that the envelope forms of two fields are important factors for controlling the re...
متن کاملAT/P5-02- POSTER 1 Control of Amplified Spontaneous Emission in the Laser system for Intense Laser Plasma Acceleration Research
One of the emerging trends in new accelerator techniques is the laser based acceleration of particles, known as laser – plasma acceleration. Interaction of intense ultra short laser pulse with matter generates oscillations in hot plasma and the subsequent acceleration of electrons in a wakefield .Electrons can be accelerated to around 100 MeV within 1 mm distance. Ion beams can also be produced...

We have considered the self-focusing of a Gaussian laser pulse in unmagnetized plasma. High-intensity electromagnetic fields cause the variation of electron density in plasma. These changes in the special conditions cause the acceleration of electrons to the higher energy and velocities. Thus the equation of plasma density evolution was obtained considering the electrons ponderomotive force. T...
